ABOUT ME

Growing up with a father in advertising and a mother as a painter, I learned all about (graphic) design at a very young age. I spend hours in my room drawing. First on paper and later on the computer and when I finished high school I was eager to learn all about the printing process.

I started to work at age 17, first as a pre-press producer at an offset printing company.

I then made a move to an advertising agency where I learned all about the DTP process. Digital media was coming up so the most logical step was to switch to a multimedia company where I began working as a junior designer.

At age 22 I started my career in apparel design. After 5 years of working in different design roles, from DTP to interactive design, I joined Nike at the European Headquarters in Hilversum. I began working as Production Artist for the European Team-sports Department. Not long after I climbed the ladder to become Design Assistant at Nike Global Football. After a few years I switched to Nike Global Rugby where I worked as Design Assist alongside the function as Graphic Designer for the Nike Events Team. After a while I was asked back to be Design Assist again at Nike Global Football Apparel to mainly focus on photorealistic and 3D process, beginning 2012 I was promoted to Graphic Designer 1 alongside my work for the 3D Project in GFA.

In 2016 the opportunity came to start working as a 3D designer at adidas world headquarter in Herzogenaurach. This has brought me to the next level in my career. Not only did I manage the assistant 3D designers, but I also worked   with multiple design teams to implement 3D into their daily workflow. Working closely with senior designers and design directors on a daily basis.

In 2018 I decided to move back to the Netherlands and join the new Corporate Start-up from PVH, Stitch 3D.

At Stitch 3D I was working with an industry changing team, developing software to accommodate the 3D design process within the fashion brands Tommy Hilfiger & Calvin Klein. Via the Academy, Stitch trains and supports the apparel creation teams in using the 3D software to create the 3D apparel and support them with setting up new processes along the way. I left Stitch 3D as Head of Stitch Academy managing 6 team members who are still transforming the future of fashion from within.

2022 presented a new challenge in joining "Zelus" as Creative Director.
Zelus is the Authorized Lincensee of Nike Inc., which means we create Nike apparel to the exact same standard as the brand it self and do so for selected assets under Nike contract. But we also create and produce teamwear and BTO (Build to Order) for a large selection of sports, including Rugby, Basketball, Track & Field, Netball, and much more. Heading up the design team of 8 people has been a great next step in my career and allows me to use my experience to support and manage the team.

I’m an autodidact in (3D) design software. I learned everything there is to know about apparel & graphic design throughout my 20+ years of work experience and have grown into a multi-disciplined designer and people manager.

My experience ranges from graphic design, interactive design and 3D to graphic tees, logos and into video editing & photoshop retouching.

I excel in creating smooth processes within creation teams, setting up standard operating procedures, naming conventions and currently managing the Zelus Design team.

Looking forward to connect!
